Yes, regulations can take the fun out of business. But when that fun is at someone else’s expense (i.e. excess executive compensation) or is just unfair (10 hours locked in a Jet Blue plane on a tarmack — isn’t that kidnapping?) it should come as no surprise when public policy concerns prompt someone to say “there ought to be a law.”
